Welcome to the Northern Virginia Dental Society!

Founded in 1931, the Northern Virginia Dental Society (NVDS) is the largest of eight component societies of the Virginia Dental Association and the American Dental Association with over 1,350 local member dentists including specialists.

Our Mission

The mission of the Northern Virginia Dental Society is to represent and serve the members of the Society and the public by fostering quality oral health care through continuing education, open communication, and legislation.

NVDS in the News

DCW-50 News recently ran a story about an unlicensed individual performing dental procedures in the basement of his W. Falls Church home leaving a patient with a blood-borne infection. NVDS contacted the DCW-50 in response to this appalling activity to let the public know that access to safe and quality oral health care is available at our Northern Virginia Dental Clinics.

Helping Children Through Give Kids a Smile

Northern Virginia Community College in Springfield, Virginia
February 2, 2018

The American Dental Association began the Give Kids A Smile program in 2003 as a way for dentists to join with others in the community to provide dental services to underserved children. The program initially began as a one-day event in February, but has since grown to local and national events year-round. Dentists and other team members volunteer their time, and services, to provide screenings, treatments and education to children throughout the United States. Each year, approximately 450,000 children benefit from more than 1500 events, all because of the efforts of 40,000 or more annual volunteers.
