nformation Description:The use of platelet concentrates has had a long-his
tory of use in various fields of medicine as an autologous source of growt
h factors fabricated utilizing centrifugation of blood under various condi
tions. Over the past 10 years\, platelet rich fibrin (PRF) has seen a stea
dy increase in utilization for a variety of medical and dental procedures
due to its lack of anti-coagulation factors favoring fibrin clot formation
and faster wound healing. This talk aims to highlight the recent advancem
ents made with respect to the newest formulations of platelet concentrates
including recent developments in horizontal centrifugation. Thereafter\,
the Bio-Heat technology will be presented as a way to completely replace c
ollagen membranes in dentistry owing to the ability to extend the working
properties of PRF from 2-3 weeks to 4-6 months. Lastly\, new clinical appl
ications and uses of PRF will be presented in implant dentistry\, periodon
tology and in facial esthetics (Bio-Fillers using PRF).Objectives:Optimiza
tion of protocols for any centrifugation deviceUpdate on Bio-Heat technolo
gy and the ability to extend the working properties of PRF from 2-3 weeks
to 4-6 monthsLaunch of the Bio-Cool technologyNew uses of PRF in implant d
entistry and Facial EstheticsBiography: Dr. Richard Miron is currently lea
d educator and researcher at Advanced PRF Education and an Adjunct Visitin
g Faculty in the department of Periodontology in Bern\, Switzerland where
he completed his PhD studies since 2009. He has currently published over 3
50 peer-reviewed articles and lectures internationally on many topics rela
ting to growth factors\, bone biomaterials and guided bone regeneration. F
or the past 8 years\, Dr. Miron has been recognized by Dentistry Today as
being one of the top 100 CE providers in the country and the youngest to e
ver make the list. He is also the top ranked researcher on Platelet-Rich F
ibrin therapy as per Expertscape independent review. He has recently been
awarded many recent international prizes in dentistry and is widely consid
ered as one of the top contributors to implant dentistry having won the IT
I Andre Schroeder Prize\, the IADR Young Investigator of the Year in the f
ield of Implant Dentistry as well as the IADR Socransky Research award in
the field of Periodontology (2020). He has written 10 textbooks widely dis
tributed in regenerative dentistry including his best-seller in 2019 title
d: “Next Generation Biomaterials for Bone and Periodontal Regeneration”\,
in 2021 titled: “Understanding Platelet Rich Fibrin” and in 2023 titled: "
Modern Implant Dentistry".Cancellations for this live event must be receiv
