You will learn to unravel the "crime scene". The impact of mouth breathing on oral health is key. Most restorative dentistry treats problems caused by airway. You will learn the many options to treat airway problems. From surgery to oral appliances to orthodontics there are so many approaches…even drugs. Long term stability of your solutions are based on healthy breathing. This course will expose you to all the current evidence based literature on topics from screening to treatment to follow up of airway dysfunction. A roadmap of how to bring this type of treatment into your practice will be presented and a practical toolkit will be reviewed and shared. Once you are exposed to this presentation you will never view your patients the same way again. Instead of treating symptoms you will be treating the cause.

Course Objectives:

  • Understand how airway problems relate to oral health.
  • Understand how airway problems relate to total body health.
  • Learn how to screen for OSA in your practice.
  • Learn about the causes of airway problems.
  • Learn about treatment alternatives.
  • Appreciate that early intervention for airway problems is so important.
