Helping Children Through Give Kids a Smile
The American Dental Association began the Give Kids A Smile program in 2003 as a way for dentists to join with others in the community to provide dental services to underserved children. The program initially began as a one-day event in February, but has since grown to local and national events year-round. Dentists and other team members volunteer their time, and services, to provide screenings, treatments and education to children throughout the United States. Each year, approximately 450,000 children benefit from more than 1500 events, all because of the efforts of 40,000 or more annual volunteers.
2019 Volunteer Registration is closed.
Thank you for your overwhelming response!
Our first Northern Virginia Dental Clinic in Falls Church was founded by members of NVDS in 1994 and the clinics continue to be the Society’s main outreach program.
Our brand new, state of the art Fairfax clinic (8221 Willow Oaks Corporate Dr.) opened in January 2016. In addition to the new Fairfax clinic, we have a beautiful facility in Sterling. Both clinics are in desperate need of volunteers.
Can you help? The clinic can accommodate your schedule preferences. Patients are appointed at 45 minute intervals with extended hours until 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays (Fairfax location only).
By offering a few hours a month or even a few hours in your own dental practice, you can make a difference in the life of someone less fortunate!

Please use the Clinic Volunteer Registration Form to volunteer your time and skills. Or our NVDC recently launched its own website with an on-line volunteer sign-up calendar. It's simple to use and dentists and specialists are greatly needed. Click HERE to view the new website and sign up for your day. The login password for volunteers is novaclinic1. Remember that the patients treated at NVDC are the very same patients we have treated at our MOM Projects in the past - our clinics are providing them with a true dental home. Help keep our Society's primary outreach program strong - volunteer!
