A UNIQUE MEMBERS-ONLY EDUCATIONAL & HANDS-ON, LIVE PATIENT EVENT

Synposis: Join the NVDC on Friday, April 24, 2026, for an all-day hands-on course on in-office dental extractions. The course will begin with a 2-hour didactic session covering basic concepts of extraction of single and multiple teeth, alveoloplasty and preprosthetic surgery, simple wisdom tooth removal techniques, and, if time permits, socket preservation grafting and Cone Beam CT diagnosis of Inferior Alveolar Nerve Position to assist in surgical planning. The remainder of the day will consist of participants performing surgical procedures under the supervision of a Board-certified oral surgeon. The types of extractions will be determined by patient availability.

Learning Objectives:

After attending, participants should have basic knowledge and experience to:

  • Apply proper case selection to determine which extractions can be managed in a general practice setting versus referred.
  • Develop treatment plans for and perform extractions of single and multiple erupted teeth.
  • Understand and utilize basic extraction instrumentation.
  • Manage basic extraction-related complications.
  • Diagnose and treatment plan inferior alveolar nerve position using Cone Beam CT scanning.
